Catch mobile have just advised what compensation they are offering after the Optus outage. I'm getting 50gb of data added to my plan. Which considering I didn't notice I was affected and have a 60gb year plan is, for me, pretty decent.

But overall that sort of compensation is pretty useless. Most people have a plan that covers what they use plus a bit extra. Giving extra data is mostly useless. What they should be doing is providing data and extending the recharge time. Especially with plans like mine where data does not roll over. And it certainly doesn't address any of the issues associated with business interuption, the impact on alarm systems (including medical alert alarms) and problems with emergency calls.

I agree, pretty useless. I've already got over 600 gig of data rolled over and spare in my plan with amaysim, so extra data is kinda useless? We had drivers making deliveries to my work who couldn't take and send pictures to prove they'd done the job. And there was a Paralympian who was stuck in bed and couldn't contact anyone to get help, the poor woman. What use is data for her experience? Very crappy of Optus.

The whole thing is a total farce. How anyone could stay with floptus (unless they're grandfathered into a very good deal) is beyond me, they take the cake for uncaring and out of touch...
