He played over 200 times for Madrid, theres not a lot of deception about his abilities on the pitch.

This is a TalkSport article whose main source is Gabriel Agbonlahor. Nobody at United thinks they were deceived and aren't aware of his abilities.

Idiotic pundits. Overall Varane has been very good for us when fit. Not always, but he's had a fucking hell of a time with the entire defense and the cdm switching out every other game.
