Hello, I'm writing my first post about an issue I'm having after assembling my new PC.

All the components are well connected, when I turn on the computer everything lights up, (leds, fans, graphics card, AIO etc...). But once I plug DP or hdmi cable into my card... nothing, no BIOS.

I think the problem is that I've installed a 14th generation i7 on an ASUS prime z790-A motherboard and the bios isn't up to date enough.

What I'm not sure about is:

- How can I update the BIOS with this processor?

- Do you need a 13th gen processor for that?

- And above all, some of my motherboard's indicator LEDs are still on (white = VGA) green/yellow = boot. Knowing that generally VGA problem is linked to the graphics card.

So I'm wondering if updating the bios will solve the VGA led problem.Has anyone had a similar problem and found a way to make it work?

Here's my configuration:

-Hyte y40 case (so riser for vertically mounted card)

-Rtx 3070ti Vision

-i7 14700kf

-Asus Prime Z790 A wifi

Thanks for any help

Hello little update here, I'm currently typing on my new PC. Finally!
After struggling for a long time I found a solution. For those who have the same problem as me, try this:

โ€‹

  • USE HDMI CABLE, not DP
  • If your processor has integrated graphics, use the mobo's HDMI port, otherwise you need to get a compatible processor (13th gen in my case).
  • Update your BIOS
  • And finally (after reinstalling your processor), turn on your PC and connect the monitor to the GPU using an ... HDMI cable!
