They probably mean well, but what do they think they're going to achieve?

Hamas go 'ah sh1t Werder Bremen fans want us to release hostages, too. Well, we better do that then will we?'

So in my opinion when groups with no influence over a certain thing do this they do so to make themselves feel better or present themselves in a certain way. Not sure what the value of that is...
