New Zealand plans to exterminate every last rat, mustelid and possum to save native birds. The government expects the task to be completed by 2050.

When I moved to AB from ON I thought the idea that you could have a province with no rats just seemed ridiculous.

But there aren't any rats here. Field mice sure, but no rats.

More power to the Kiwis to remove an invasive species.

Now if only rats didn't make such wonderful pets. Adorable friendly dudes those fancy rats are. (￣ヘ￣)
