I'm actually kind of surprised that the means of production being owned by the population is a controversial view.

Not that surprising when capitalists have had unlimited funds to spread propaganda for the past 2 centuries

And there was a period not too long ago where anyone with these kinds of ideas was rounded up and openly murdered. Kind of disincentivizes breaking the status quo.
