as a soon-to-be former user of RIF, i will certainly miss the simplistic design and the ease of use of the app. o7

I mean jerboa seems pretty similar

At present, Jerboa seems pretty buggy. At least for me.

I find Liftoff to be much, much better atm

Almost already recommendable to people upset about third party reddit apps; just needs to remove the need to know how instances work when registering.

Liftoff is close but still a little buggy (to be expected). I appreciate the compact mode and option to take the curve off the corners.

But it's still not quite what I'm looking for from a RIF replacement. It's still too stylized and using "modern" design aesthetic with all it's wasted screen space and padding.

I like RIF for it's classic design. Simple, straightforward, compact.

I'm 100% with you, RiF was almost perfectly lean and efficient in how it presented things and nothing else is quite there. I like maximal info density and minimal UI, RiF really had the balance dialed in.

Its still super early in its development. Im sure RiF had some bugs to work through when it was launching as well.

Im willing to use it, let it crash, and send in crash reports to help the dev make it better in the meantime (at least I hope thats what I am doing).

I haven't had many issues with it. Apparently the latest update is buggy, but I haven't updated it

Jerboa is very similar to me. Pretty much slotted that in on the spot that rif used to be and haven't skipped a beat.

I've been using jeroba for last two weeks, and like it. I just installed connect for lemmy, and find it just feels smoother and slicker.

It doesn't seem to work on my phone. It keep crashing. I haven't heard anyone else mention this problem, so it might just be my POS. Looking forward replacing RIF with something like this though

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Liftoff works well for me.

Agree on this, Jerboa has the settings to have each post take a minimal amount of space like I enjoyed on RIF

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I just installed it. The interface is close enough that I haven't had to search for anything, which is great.

And I think I actually prefer Jerboa's text editor over RiF.

RIF was almost perfect. I hope there's a kbin app that copies the style.

https://github.com/talklittle/reddit-is-fun I wonder how bad the v1 version was? closed the source v2 and up and the recent one was v5. May be a decent basis for someone to pickup.
