Sure the market in my area have shopping carts, but I've never see anyone using them other than to contain children while shopping.

That's completely irrelevant. The point is that shopping carts are universal and there for good reasons. Nobody cares if you use them or not, the point is that trying to point a shopping cart as urban hell is beyond stupid.
A shopping cart is literally a basket on wheels. I fail to see your point.
