Yes. Some seem to be dedicated to certain controversial subjects and are cut off from others. Do a little research to make sure you don't join one that's strictly dedicated to porn or politics (unless that's what you are trying to find) but the good thing is, you are free to make accounts on different servers if you want to explore.
