Hey what's with the red line? I keep thinking there's an original post up the chain but there isn't. What happened?

Update of the Lemmy version on the instance. There are a few other changes to the layout as well.

The red line is not a popular change, but I am starting to get used to it now. I do find the way the lines for other comments stack make it a bit easier to see which level those repies are.

I'd prefer no line for parent comments.

I think it would work if there was a gap between the comments rather than continuous. It makes you think multiple comments are joined rather than making it clear it is a new group.
