That is definitely an improvement. Not much has been removed from here so far. But it's probably not a good idea to spend too much time looking at the rubbish, like reading the comments on many sites it is probably not good for mental health.

The open nature of the log so you can look at it is good though, having things removed in secret with no oversight is a bit problematic IMO. There is way too much potential for mods to abuse their power when decisions are not open to scrutiny.
