Most people aren't even thinking of moving to reddit alternatives. Users have a lot of power in this situation. Just move your community to Lemmy or Kbin. It's not that hard.

Fear of missing out, I guess. There's so much happening on there constantly, always trying to grab your attention. It was a nice time waster but recent events put the platform on the same path of Facebook and Twitter: Cultural irrelevance.

It will take some time for most, but as soon as more people realise Reddit is down and out, they'll leave aswell and it will become a place for your crazy uncle to share his conspiracy myths, but not a place where your friends hang out.
