β€œAnd I think it’s because people who work on airplanes, people who work in restaurants, people who work building things love my message.”

What a load of shit. He's even starting to sound like Trump.

Unfortunately he's not wrong, I'm a union construction worker and my coworkers love him. But really they'd love anyone flying the Conservative banner.

It's utterly insane how all it takes to get somebody to vote against their self-interests is to rile them up and tell them what they want to hear. Poilievre's program has literally nothing to offer to your average middle-class Joe. Literally nothing. His whole platform is populist BS and your usual rich-get-richer conservative policies.

Your average blue collar worker is the high school jock/bully that never amounted to anything else in life. They just want to be told it's ok to call people gay slurs, hate anything to do with trans people, and look funny at anyone whose skin color is different than their own even if they deny that in public.

Oh and any conflict should be resolved with violence of course

Thats populism in a nutshell.

That's disappointing to hear. Anyone in a union should be aware that Conservatives are the enemy of the working class and will do anything to keep workers wages/rights suppressed.

What are some detrimental-to-labour actions the CPC has carried out in the past that anyone in a union should be aware of?

Labour is mostly a provincial concern, so the average person isn't apt to see them as being impactful to labour. Your list will serve as a good, concrete reminder.

Not like the liberals are any different.

You're not entirely wrong. They will fight for workers as long as they work for the companies run by their friends, like SNC Lavalin.

Don't forget NDP exists as an option.

"Man who has never worked a real job in his life and who will retire with a fat pension and full benefits thinks he's the leader for the working man."
