We give religious freaks more platform than climate scientists when it comes to "the world is going to end for humans"
Which is wild, considering the top religion in my country is "none".
People replace one religion with another.
There's a lot of big religions right now who claim not to be one.
Such as?
Tech absolutism, capitalism meritocracy, the whole cult of men trying to out tough each other and worshipping the idea of unique individualism through shared identity of shittiness.
I mean religion is a belief system of how the world works. Lots of people have a belief that doesn't match reality in some way, but it's a simpler option than meeting the world each time as unique for handling day to stuff. When you can have Faith® and just focus on your stuff and figure it will figure itself out cause something out there will do the saving.
A bit of a stretch if you ask me.
Hard disagree on the tech absolutism. That might be a cult but it's not a religion.
Even then, I'm a tech absolutist because I'm qualified to know why others are wrong.
What's the difference between a cult and a religion in your opinion?
A fake deity to worship that's supernatural in origin.
