•  1 in 5 men is infected with oncogenic types of HPV. 

•  The prevalence of HPV among men is 31% for any HPV and 21% for high-risk HPV. 

•  The most common HPV genotype in men is HPV-16 (5%). 

•  HPV infections in men and women can be asymptomatic but can lead to long-term sequelae and death. 

•  HPV infections are associated with cancers of the penis, anus, and oropharynx. 

•  Opportunities should be sought to prevent HPV infection and reduce the incidence of HPV-associated diseases.
