how to upload images as png from an iphone? (lemmy.blahaj.zone)

so this isn't for me per se, but for an acquaintance. they're trying to upload a transparent png on a discord server with the intention of keeping it as a transparent png, because it's a game asset. unfortunately, for some reason, their iphone keeps converting it to jpg on upload, making the background white and littering the image with artifacts. this only seems to happen because it's an iphone. is there a way to upload it to discord without it turning into a jpg?

In the photo picker before you pick the photo click the settings thing in the bottom right corner and change it to the current option.
