The issue is the very moment you have any kind of tech in your cyberpunk literature, you'll get techbros wanting to make that a reality.
I knew about this kind of thing happening long before that post (I learned software engineering in college, and a lot of people looked at me weirdly for being media literate), and also I have a game idea called Torment Nexus, where you play as a novelist whose father wrote the bestseller "Don't Create The Torment Nexus", and some billionaire actually created Torment Nexus, and you have to destroy it after getting into some incident due to the very same Torment Nexus.
So ... Inspired by a meme about not creating the torment nexus, you want to create the Torment Nexus? Seems risky.
