On this day in 1938, BBC Television aired the first science fiction TV program, an adaptation of a section of the Karel Čapek play R.U.R.. This play is also famous for coining the term "robot" from the word "labour".

@tito_[email protected] Yeah, that part is a bit confusing. In Slovak, "robota" just means "manual labor". I don't think it's used differently in Czech, maybe that's the historical origin, and it's used a bit differently now?
