Big brain tech dude got yet another clueless take over at HackerNews etc? Here's the place to vent. Orange site, VC foolishness, all welcome.

banned from use by government employees in Australia

So is every other AI except copilot built into Microsoft products. Government employees can't use chatgpt directly. So this point is a bit disingenuous.

They specificallly named this one, you don't have to make up reasons that somehow it doesn't count.

This whole instance is in bad faith.

It's all people who are informed enough to whinge accurately - but not honestly. They know LLMs are spicy autocomplete, but still expect the opinionless letter-picker to outsmart all living humans and filter any nefarious uses. And then turn around and complain that it's censored. And pretend training cost is the same as hardware cost, even though SemiAnalysis still says DeepSeek was apples-to-apples an order of magnitude cheaper in both training and hardware.

This brand of performative dunking is ingroup loyalty behavior. It's how new-atheist bloggers got addicted to being right about everything, and anti-creationist Youtubers slid down the alt-right pipeline to chase an unquestioning audience. That's where the name "sneer club" comes from. I dunno how much irony was intended when these folks adopted it, but it's long since been lost. What's left is a hugbox for only the approved conclusions about complex topics.

Okay, complex topics and NFTs. That shit's a straight-up scam. The wire mother of wire fraud.
