the last time i had to go to court; i felt like doing this every time the judge forced a fake smile and a "bro-like" attitude between handing down life altering sentences to the people unfortunate enough to be ensared in the system.

it meant that; at some level; he knew he was doing wrong, but decided to look the other way while committing it.
