It's officially been a week since I decided to learn Dutch, and my ability to introduce myself now rivals that of a toddler. I will say I am having so much fun with it! Also, I've found focusing on direct translation has really helped me with recognising word order and the patterns that come with that. Although I sometimes still get "en" and "een" mixed up, especially when I'm practising writing.

kun je proberen pannenkoeken zo snel mogelijk in Melbourne te introduceren?

Yeah, I got like 4 words out of that lmao

Very much in my toddler babbling era right now.

Goie more babynanafungus

(Afrikaans is close enough, right?)

From what I understand a native/fluent Dutch speaker would mostly be able to understand someone speaking Afrikaans, but a native/fluent Afrikaans speaker would probably not be able to understand someone speaking Dutch.

Like for me Good Morning is Goedemorgen, Afrikaans like you said is Goie More.

Have you learned "I don't speak Dutch" yet?

It's basically a cornerstone phrase for any language that learn.
