It is largely trained on online articles, which does have inherently a western media bias in the first place. Any censorship/filtering are done after the fact as part of the hosted service.

Reminder the models do not form their own opinion, they only calculated the most likely response after a question.

Can't believe this .ml garbage is being upvoted.

Models are absolutely aligned, there's an entire thing called alignment! People even have jobs that they do every day keeping the models aligned and clearly Chinese government is aligning Deepseek because you can simply test it.

It's such an idiotic claim as even if there was no alginment going on what stopping from taking out material from the training set? You somehow imply that smartest people on earth can't remove some wikipedia articles from the training data?

If they actually already have the alignment, then it wouldn't have needed an additional filter on their cloud based service that censors results that causes the discrepancy between the model you can download and their cloud service.

Isn't that just one more way to align?

Even with a local model it still will spew lies.

machines that is trained on lies make lies. I am shocked!

That's not true, imagine being butthurt about an open sourced ai

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

I'm running the 14b and it was still lying.

Nobody is butthurt. I welcome competition. But when the competition is from a country regularly using psyops tools on the world for their own benefits, that's when we all have to stop using it.

You're absolutely right, which is why I welcome China's ai rather than America. Theres literally no nation involved in more psyops and global propaganda than the United states of America like are you kidding me? I've seen dozens of un votes be most or the entire planet against America and the vote not going through because America said no.

Trump is putting 500 billion into closed sourced ai (at the time) That 500 billion wasnt a gift, america does use ai and nsa to track its own citizens and citizens of its allies.

Me friend not only did you drink the coolaid, you're drowning in it

First of all, calm your tits.

Secondly, your argument for China is using this as a psyops tool with saying America does it too is what we call "whataboutism" look it up. I'll wait. That shit worked in 2016. It's 2025. It's time to use a new tactic.

Thirdly, we have documented proof that China and Russia and North Korea are not only doing psyops but actual hacking into American infrastructure and companies.

Sure sure, you think the United States does psyops on China. Sure sure. China thinks so too and blocked many companies like google and YouTube there.

All I'm suggesting is that we also block their psyops tools in all Western countries. Eye for an eye.
