When you're talking about devices that fit in the palm of your hand, 8mm is a lot.

You cannot tell the difference visually. They look identical side by side and in my experience feel exactly the same. Perhaps ever so slightly heavier but it is nothing near as bad as what you're implying it is. You make it sound like the 8a is a monster of a phone and that's honestly ridiculous.

Hand and finger sizes vary. Perceptions will differ.

In my experience, they do not feel at all the same.
