I think that's one name for Cape Gooseberry. Try googling that. Never tried to grow them, but have eaten them a few times. The little paper casings around each fruit are adorable. I believe they grow quite well here in Melbourne, but I've never tried. Maybe talk to taleya?

Thanks, will do. And yes, the paper casings are cute (she gave me a couple of fruits but I'd had breath mints and then brushed my teeth so I didn't eat).

I believe you can take off the casings and dip the fruit in hard crack sugar syrup for toffee crunchy goodness. I find them tangy and yum as part of a cheese board.
