There is 1.4 Billion people in China. Chinese internet firms are reaching a larger audience in China, than all the people living in North America and Europe.

Yeah, China has almost double the population of the US and EU combined.

That's where "developing nations" come in - India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Brasil, Nigeria... AFAIK these are mostly western-aligned when it comes to tech platforms, but that could be up for grabs.
