Extend this to climate change:
Bob is responsible for .00000015% of emissions.
Shell is responsible for 5%.
But 95% of marketing for a more climate-friendly lifestyles is aimed at Bob.
Or to put it another way, Bob will emit roughly 15 metric tons of CO2 in his lifetime.
Shell emitted roughly 50 million tons in 2023 alone.
But let’s tel Bob he needs to change his lifestyle.
Neither you not OP understand the problem. In the end, you damn white knights are not taken seriously cuz your arguments are trump-level idiotic. And so US politics looks like just idiots shouting at each other.
Let's take your claim of a bob being responsible for 0.00000015% of emissions at face value. US population is approximately 300,000,000. That means bobs combined are responsible for 45% of the emissions. And shell only for 5%. To me it seems like forget the shell, if we manage to get bob to emit 2/3 of what they regularly do, it's equivalent to erasing 3 shells from the planet.
So, it looks to me, from your own assumptions you should stop focusing on corporations and go hunt the laymen. You see someone use a gas heater? Set their house on fire. You see a pick-up truck! Puncture the tires. Start this activism across the country, and you'll do more for the environment than if you combine into a mob and manage to overthrow the evil greedy corpo.
Checkmate, anon.
You seem to not realise that "shell" is a stand-in for a lot of companies, each of which emits 5%. It is way more efficient to get a few companies than every person on earth.
