Still bad advice, imo. Unless you work at a great job you tend to accumulate responsibilities until you can't handle another one.

Powering through tasks just raises the future expectations of management.

How would this be bad advice for things like household chores, personal projects, doing taxes, taking care of your own medical stuff, or voluntary responsible such as having a pet.

I think I misread the previous reply - I assumed they were saying "Would that still hold if they were work related tasks?" Instead they may have meant "This is only true for work related tasks" - I agree with the later point.

When it comes to personal tasks though there's no reason to not do everything you're able when you're able to do it.
