Me too. I mostly lurked and commented and rarely posted. It's a bit of a surprise for me still. Somehow I didn't think they'd yeet the whole sub into oblivion but here we are!

For me it was the speed at which they nuked it and the fact that it was locked from 4pm, felt excessive.

Same! I didn't even get to say goodbye or to thank people for their advice and support over the years, and especially for keeping me informed and sane during 2020. I feel all indignant and sad. It was our sub, dammit!

It was the same for me, I discovered it at 11pm, didn't realise it was locked until I tried posting my goodbye and thank you comment, everyone in that thread kept me sane through 2020 and beyond as well.

We made our unpleasant discovery at the same then. Sigh I'm slowly getting used to this fediverse thingy; I've been tinkering with it for about a week now, never realising what the r/melbourne mods were going to do today. Even in the last week lots of things have changed and developed with Lemmy and the jerboa app. They sort of had to because so many people joined! think it'll keep improving so I'm optimistic about that at least

Me too, I was relieved to find out this exists with so many of the DT here. I haven't attempted to download the app just yet. Lol. Using this on google chrome.

Ditto. Not even going to attempt the app.
