$20 a year is an unreasonable subscription model?

If I pay $60 for a game, I want to be able to play it in at least 10 years, not just 3.

It depends on the use case. You play the shit out of the game for months after months online and get regular updates, 20 $ are totally fine. If you want to build some crazy tracks a few times a year, not so.
