My only regret is that insurance will pick up the tab and it's not coming out of Haslem's pocket.

How does that impact the cap? I thought I'd seen something about Rodgers going down last year not really hitting the cap because of insurance

I son't think it affects the cap hit. I just wanted Haslem to have to foot the entire bill himself for this debacle.

From what I understand, the insurance is against the cap. Haslam does still have to pay Watson's salary, but the team gets a cap credit next year for the amount they insured. I think how much Haslam pays for the insurance premium may go against the cap, but it's hard to nail down solid info about this stuff.

If you tried viewing the Niners cap and the hit by player per year made no sense to me. No clue how it works

Yeah I'm pretty sure the cap is just fake and made up, a distraction they give us fans to puzzle over
