Is soybean oil used for stuff that isn't basically ultraprocessed crap? A huge amount is made but I only ever see it listed as an ingredient on packaged junk food in aus.

I think that the generic "vegetable oil" listed in many ingredient lists is usually soybean oil.

Not sure. My local supermarket doesn't have soybeans (edamame) tho, because they allocate it elsewhere.
