Rules (2024-08-30)
- This is an English-language community. Comments should be in English. Posts can link to non-English news sources when providing a full-text translation in the post description. Automated translations are fine, as long as they don't overly distort the content.
- No links to misinformation or commercial advertising. When you post outdated/historic articles, add the year of publication to the post title. Infographics must include a source and a year of creation; if possible, also provide a link to the source.
- Be kind to each other, and argue in good faith. Don't post direct insults nor disrespectful and condescending comments. Don't troll nor incite hatred. Don't look for novel argumentation strategies at Wikipedia's List of fallacies.
- No bigotry, sexism, racism, antisemitism, dehumanization of minorities, or glorification of National Socialism.
- Be the signal, not the noise: Strive to post insightful comments. Add "/s" when you're being sarcastic (and don't use it to break rule no. 3).
- If you link to paywalled information, please provide also a link to a freely available archived version. Alternatively, try to find a different source.
- Light-hearted content, memes, and posts about your European everyday belong in [email protected]. (They're cool, you should subscribe there too!)
- Don't evade bans. If we notice ban evasion, that will result in a permanent ban for all the accounts we can associate with you.
- No posts linking to speculative reporting about ongoing events with unclear backgrounds. Please wait at least 12 hours. (E.g., do not post breathless reporting on an ongoing terror attack.)
(This list may get expanded when necessary.)
We will use some leeway to decide whether to remove a comment.
If need be, there are also bans: 3 days for lighter offenses, 14 days for bigger offenses, and permanent bans for people who don't show any willingness to participate productively. If we think the ban reason is obvious, we may not specifically write to you.
If you want to protest a removal or ban, feel free to write privately to the mods: @[email protected], @[email protected], or @[email protected].

They say the same about Germany but my actual problems have nothing to do with some poor fuckers not wanting to be bombed or jailed & tortured. These problems include an underfunded education system, decades old and fucked up infrastructure, lack of digitalization, a collapsing pension system, an overwhelmed public health system, climate change, and much more.
The whole migration trope appeared out of nowhere again like a year ago, just before the genocide in Gaza started dominating all news. My biggest problem at that time was that the fucking bus is not coming and that it takes forever to get a doctor's appointment and by now I’m pretty sure that all of this migration panic is some Russian psy-ops.
In Sweden is it worse than germany.

I remember seeing videos Finnish motorcycle gangs (very white, very Nazis) figthing with heavy arms in the woods sometimes. I remember in the movie "Lord of War" they said it was cheaper to buy real guns than fake ones for staging scenes of hangars full of guns after the downfall of the Sovjet Union, that made their hands into criminal trade. So if some dipshits smuggled in a few thousand grenades and distributed them, that explains why they are used so heavily compared to all other countries.
Also when looking at how heavily armed Finnish Nazi gangs are and how easy it was for Breivik in Norway to get the weapons for his massacres, it seems to simply be easier to get heavy weapons in Scandinavia than in other places. And Sweden being twice as populated than Finland or Norway results in more crime with that too.
Looking at the homicide rate, Sweden seems to be about the same like Finland and still much better than the Baltic states and on par with France and the UK.
Sounds fucked ngl but is that some organized crime related thing? At least that’s what it says in the article.
Yes. It's an organized crime. Pretty much anything violent that happens here is because of gangs.
Yea literally none of that applies. They Have great programs for teaching and integrating people but the cultural differences are just too far apart. A large percent of the immigrants refuse to accept Swedish values and culture.
I don’t understand what you mean with „none of that applies“.
Regarding the culture blabla that’s the exact same narrative that we heard about the Russian-Germans and Yugoslavian in the 90s, about the Spanish, Turkish, Italian, Polish people in the 60s and literally German refugees after WW2.
Just because you keep repeating it it won’t become true.
Edit: you seem to be in the US? Wtf do you know about the situation in Sweden or Germany? You say you have family and go there every year. Good for you but if you’d actually live here you’d know the situation isn‘t like Fox News tells you or whatever hillbilly news you consume.
Yeah I’d lie if I’d say I didn’t see that one coming.
