Yep. Same word, just mutated slightly.

Yeah I feel like 80% of Norwegian is just mutated German.

e.g. Tier --> dyr (animal)

There's also quite a bit of English, eg.

Window -> vindu

Leather (animal skin) -> skinn

That's the other way. English got a lot of words from the vikings.
