Only way playtronOS will interest me is if they can get those "interested partners" to work with anti cheat but if they only work with playtronOS than that's dumb.

I think any progress is good. If it works there I'm sure steam will make their own version.

I do agree actually and that progress is part of what pulls me towards Linux in general because I love seeing the improvement. (I am by no means an expert in Linux workings but) my fear from the anti cheat perspective is what if they work with those partners to only work with that distro and not a Linux wide solution if that's not possible than by all means let me know lol.

I understand your point but even your scenario would be an improvement for those wanting to play in linux at all. If devs abandon linux anti cheats like easy and move to only one distro, they have to be a shitty company like square inix. Steam is super big and any decent company would go with steam's route. Games like fortnite, valorant will never release in linux cause ahole companies.
