what a fucking dumbass man... it's actually pissing me off. how can you be so bad at everything? like is there nothing in this world that your smooth ass brain can actually process?

He's remarkably good at making money for some reason. Like he can piss 40Bn up a wall and still be the richest man in the world and he could do it again today and still be the world's richest man. Makes me question what in the ever loving fuck I'm doing wrong.

You're likely doing nothing wrong; wealth and merit are just unrelated.

If I had to list core beliefs that separate conservatives from liberals, that right there would be one.

Agreed, although liberals sometimes have a brand of meritocratic belief - it's usually more to do with something like karma rather than faith in "the market" or whatever.

wealth and merit are just unrelated.

If this is what you actually think, it might be the thing you're doing wrong. Fortuna est quae fit cum praeparatio in occasionem incidit.

Well, for one are you psychopath and/or sociopath? If not, that's a problem. Second, were you born wealthy? If not that's HUGE hurdle.

you're trying to make an honest living. also you didn't get millions from your daddy. there's the difference. change these two simple factors and you too can be one of the richest people on earth and take credit and tons of money from the fruits of labor you steal from non-union workers.

it’s actually pissing me off

I think that's the point. If you want to properly disarm the man, fully stop caring about what he says.

it's not about the man, i don't care what he says. i just can't handle someone being this fucking dumb and bad at everything; it insults my sense of humanity. like usually even the worst people are at least good at one thing. maybe like they write the number 7 very nicely with the proper pen. i don't think this idiot can write the number 1 without fucking it up.

Given how successful he is in a business sense, do you think it's actually possible that he's stupid?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

yes, business success is demonstrably not causally linked to intelligence or competence. you just need to receive a million dollars or two from your parents and after that you can just fail upwards for life.

it helps if you have no morals or concern for other people but that's usually instilled in you by the kind of parent who gives or leaves you that kind of money. CEOs don't do anything meaningful to society or even the economy. it's the workers who do the job.

buying a company, stealing labor and taking credit for the output does not make you smart or competent. it just means you're rich.

not to mention his "success" is based on hype and speculation almost entirely, and that's hype and speculation by people who are equally stupid and useless.

It doesn't matter if I personally care. But what he says matters because others care, and because he has money and power.
