Yeah we're all surprised. Who wouldn't want Ferrari's #1 driver? Leclerc can get all the poles he likes, but Sainz has so far always been 6th or higher in 2024's insanely unstable front runners—with an underperforming team. He truly is Smooth Operator.

Not to mention, everyone loves him and he's super marketable.

It's absolutely insane what's happened and Williams seems to realise just how lucky they got.
