I just don't get why they've made drag shows and the trans community their new "policy" agenda. Why would you even care about whether a child sees a man (or woman) in drag?

This is why I struggle to empathize with the modern conservative movement. I just don't get it. They don't use logic or reason, they just attack whatever gives them the ick and I wish I could understand being so sure of something that all evidence points to as being incorrect.

It’s not “conservative” when try are attempting to remove the rights of individuals. The (R)egressive party has been infiltrated by racist Christian nationalists. The trans community and drag shows are something they considered an easy target. They want to take baby steps. If they’re successful with removing the rights of the smaller demographics, they’ll step it up to something else; perhaps interracial marriage after that.

Like most of them didn't grow up laughing at Monty Python and Mrs. Doubtfire and other bits of drag related media...

Because people are starting to accept gay people, even some conservatives, so trans people are the new punching bag. Conservatism always exists in opposition to something or someone, they have no original ideas except "change bad". That's the whole ideology. It's only here to oppose progressivism, and throughout history must be pulled kicking and screaming into the future. They were ALWAYS on the losing side of history, and I'm confident they are going to lose this battle as well.

It's also not like it's a new thing. We've had Klinger in MASH, mrs. doubtfire and countless other examples that have long been a part of popular culture. Seeing bugs bunny in a dress trying to seduce Elmer didn't make me either want to be gay or trans or a furry.
