Yesterday I saw someone come out of a Maccas with the ol' soft serve which I actually haven't seen in a while. Reminds me of the old days when they were 50c. How much are they now? Anyone know?

50c...?! I remember when they were 30c

50c was what I had in mind but yeah probably was even cheaper at one point in time. F--- is anything 50c now? Lol I feel like a wee bit of tomato sauce in a squeezy thing is like $1.10 now.

Chocolate bar on clearance. Sometimes goes as low as 30c. Honestly can't think of anything else you can get for 50c these days... Maybe a small (200g) apple when they're very cheap ($2.50/kg). A single small carrot?

True. Fresh produce could be. I mean choc bars on special can be 90c which is not too bad.

i am old enoigh to remember when Maccas promised that theyd be 30c forever. Arseholes.

I'm sure they didn't have that on paper?

They're 70c-$1 now, depending on store. I'm young enough to only remember them being 60c, but I remember the day I had exactly 60c and stopped at a maccas in Melton and finding out they were 70c broke my heart. No soft serve was had that day

Thanks! Depending on store?? Is that how things are done nowadays...

That is truly heartbreaking. I probably would've tried with the 60c and a big sad face. I mean I suppose they could've just given you less in the cone but I guess that's not how business works....

Yeah there's a few things that vary by store. But they all seem to be doing the $1 cone+flake promotion at the moment which is good

(Also, they do chocolate now, and it's so good)

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Ok I'll probably get me a bit of nostalgia next time. I wish the promo was 50c though lol. Noted the choco flavour.

I'll swing through a drive-thru and grab one every now and then as a treat. The choc ones are pretty good too. Not sure on price for them normally but they at least were doing them with a flake for $1 I'm pretty sure. That's what I'd get.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Ah I guess that's not too bad. Just a 100% increase but if a flake comes with it then it's not too unreasonable.
