I do wonder if the constant vibration affects the process in any meaningful way.

Maybe if they had it cranked up REALLY loud, but I doubt a speaker at any reasonable volume would vibrate the barrel enough to make a difference

If you look at the image they have a pretty sizable amp attached to the barrel.

It probably accelerates it, you can age alcohol in 30 minutes with ultrasound and some wood chips.
