No, you are just running an argument that was created by the right's agenda.

So are you actually an agent of the right, trying to push that line, or just a moron who fell for that stupid argument?

Oh no. The right has spies everywhere... They're even inside your own party!!!

You idiots are so paranoid about your bogeyman you feel you can just ignore every criticism because it's probably some evil person trying to stop you from your perfect idea of reality. It's not perfect. Grow up.

TLDR: The bogeyman is dumb people repeating dog whistle arguments like this, that help their side, instead of issues that hurt their side.

Wall of angry man text (only read of you are trapped in a hurricane like I am):

I really just figured you were the fucking idiot parroting their dumbass arguments.

If there is a possibility that you are not just another troll...

They ABSOLUTELY have teams of people who monitor social media interactions and they know exactly what people respond to.

They know how to frame an argument in a way that will make sense to someone that "Just kinda knows the issues, or at least think they do."

With the objective to make the argument about something that, while usually meaningless, will get people speaking their talking points. It muddies the waters and gets people talking about issues they can control (or doesn't hurt their candidate) instead of issues they can't.

It is not rocket surgery. Half the work is automatic data harvesting. Facebook made it possible to target individuals for ad placement 15 years ago. They know exactly what dog whistle will make you bark, what will make you post online, what you will share with others, and they will manipulate the fuck out of it.

So for example, you are arguing that Biden is a shit choice for the Democratic candidate (he is, but arguing about that now only helps the right) instead of the BILLION other things wrong with Trump.

So whether you think you are or not, you are a fucking stooge for the right. Go bleep with the other sheep because your energy is only helping Trump.

My wife and I are registered Republicans. She worked in politics for over 15 years. We were young and naive while the Tea Party slowly took over because the people with the money started to realize just how big a base the fundy morons were, and just how easy it was to manipulate people.

They don't need bogeymen. They just need a competent data harvesting algorithm (spoiler: they can afford to pay for the ones that already have everything), and a handful of people creating the types of arguments you are using. Then they let the morons like you do the work for them.

My wife got paid almost $15k a month to do 10-15 radio spots a month, around the country, (she just needed to call in) to talk about political issues. It was all bullshit. The interviews were setup and exchanges were practically scripted word for word, but designed to sound candid. The point was to push wedge issues, to get people talking about things they were passionate about but had little real bearing. But it would get people to vote, or it would get people arguing talking points that only hurt the other side. (Citizens United really fucking ruined this country's political landscape, but JFC that PAC money was hard to walk away from.)

Now the effort to do it requires even less work. It's 90% online and even more effective, because people think they are so smart that they'll never fall for it.

It took me researching Benghazi, for a graduate project, to realize just how fucked up the misinformation machine is. I realized how easily I was misled and most importantly, how I could not trust news organizations to provide accurate information. (They are not necessarily trying to be subversive, they are just trying to be the first one with the story out and want to sell ad space, so the more sensationalized, the better).

I know this is a wall of text, I've got a hurricane on top of me and the power is out (yay ERCOT), so I've got too much time.

I'm just a faceless internet pundit ranting and name calling, so don't give my argument any more worth than this:

Who does your argument really help and why is it more important to discuss than the 100+ other crisis level issues we have. For example, how can we restore legitimacy to a Supreme Court that has just normalized punditry from the bench? Or, how do we restore the idea that our leaders should be statesman that have a responsibility to be truthful and there be repercussions when they aren't?

We can start by not running shit candidates that get paid to also do nothing and not get in the way of companies.

Honestly, I don't care anymore. The Democrats are fucked because we couldn't pull our faces out of corporate asshole sniffing for 5 minutes to actually do anything and the leaders are all money.

I can and do yell about Trump but that doesn't do anything and apparently neither does trying to warn about Biden.

36% favorable polling won't fix itself just because enough people scream at the people who don't like him for whatever reason. And it's disingenuous to say we should be talking about other issues when we do but those also get ignored because of important stuff like who gets to make policy.

You can't just refuse to play the game and still expect to win.

Being above it just makes you feel right while doing nothing. This country will end up burned to the ground and it won't be because people like me tried to warn about it.
