I attended a sourdough baking course yesterday, and this is the result - hot out of the cast iron pot.
I'm usually on the consuming side of things, so it was nice to get a chance to learn the process and make it along a proper baker (although kneading by hand was a tough workout!).
I'll let it cool off a bit, and then get a slice with some cold salty butter :)
I definitely feel that. Scoring deeply is pretty safe, I was always afraid of knocking gas out though with thicker knives or scissors.
If you like baking then id suggest buying a lame. I have this one and very happy with it but any razor really works.

Fair warning though I got really depressed and stopped baking so probably trust other bakers more than I ๐
