Amen. It's stupid on so many levels. But it seems like something GRRM world come up with. I guess with the right setup and framing it might work? But it's probably been forever ruined by D&D's idiotic execution of it.

I makes more sense if Bran is on the Isle of Faces as a ceremonial king, which would give it the whole severed head Mabinogion vibe.
