Is there a name for this sort of object? I need something like this, but don't know what to type into the webs (lemmy.world)

I'm going to convert my computer chair from pneumatic to static. I'm currently using plastic clasps that are held on with jubilee clips, but they're not great and need replaced (I'm a heavy lad). A sturdy metal version would be better.

I'm assuming the plumbing world would have something like this, but the language of the plumber is arcane and inaccessible to regular goombas like me. What do I type into the search box?

What about those metal bands that can be tightened with a screw? ‘Hose clamps’ I think.

That's a generic name for a Jubilee clip - https://www.jubileeclips.co.uk/products/original/

So a good idea, but OP is hoping to upgrade from this.

Ah yes. OK, I missed that detail in the text.

Mind you they’re only Jubilee Clips when they’re used to hold a King’s or Queen’s Jubilee together.

Otherwise they’re just ‘hose clamps’.
