Making public transit an attractive option to reduce the number of vehicles on the streets definitely helps in many scenarios.
I don't work in construction, and don't have any special knowledge therein. My observation has been that usually construction projects spanning more than a day are only worked on during business hours, unless it's an emergency like power outage, but the infrastructure is always unusable (e.g., outside of business hours). I wonder, at least in select cases, wouldn't it be better to have 2 or 3 shifts, work around the clock, and complete the job sooner and minimize dead-time
