Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

What Linux distribution or distributions do you personally use?

I myself am a daily Void user. I used to use Devuan, but wanted to try rolling release and ended up loving Void!

Similarly to you, I'm on Artix. Quite similar to arch, customizable, lightweight all that stuff, just without systemd. Don't really have this deep philosophical resentment for sysd l see a lot of others have, I just had issues with it on older systems and got used to runit. Also, the logo is really slick.

Void on my laptop, very minimal, customizable and extremely stable for a rolling distro. Wanted to mention NixOS as well because although I don't use the distro itself, the nix pm is amazing and I use it on Void for packages that aren't in the repos.
