Staying true to yourself is a better long run strategy than forcing yourself in the company of people you don't care about. At least the day you engage conversation, you'll have all sorts of interesting things to talk about. And if the person is not receptive to hermit crabs facts, you'll know they aren't a match.

A person you'd want to talk to recognizes your hobbies and genuinely listens and respects your interest, even if they themselves aren't a hobbyist.
