Transition to metric system

Lol what

[–] [email protected] 4 points 5 months ago (1 children)

The list loses a lot of credibility for being all over the damn place. Like metric is already used. My second grader is being introduced to metric and my sixth grader uses it exclusively. Regular ol public schools.

Theirs some good ideas with nonsense sprinkled in and the occasional bullet that makes you wonder if this is an outline for a middle school ELA quarterly assignment.

I still see miles per hour when driving. I still see ounces at the grocery store. Good to hear that your child is learning the metric system.

Every food/drink product I see at the grocery store has both US customary and metric units in use, e.g. all the 16.9 fl oz bottles also say 500 mL and I think all the foods are labelled in both oz/lb and grams/kg. I usually see things involving measurements in cm/m as well as in/ft, but not speed since nobody here knows what the fuck a kilometer looks like

Sooo it seems like there needs to be a transition to metric.
