kwd8zsbThat's so cool XD ! Here's some fun facts about the Social Democratic Party of Denmark:
K.K. Steincke, a social democratic politician who was one of the most prominent reformers of Danish social policy, and whos thoughts were precursors to the ideas of the famous Danish welfare state, also believed in intertwining social democracy and eugenics, calling it "bio-socialism".
In 1929, the Social Democratic government of Denmark (in which Steincke was minister of social affairs) was the first country in Europe to create a sterilization law, and as a result between 1929 and 1967 13.000 "undesirables" were sterilized, some forcefully, with the reasoning that their offspring would become a social-economic burden and deteriorate the Danish "race hygiene". Even dyslexic people were sterilized. Imagine for a moment the audacity of sterilizing people for having a hard time reading the Danish language.
The law was an inspiration for the 1934 sterilization law of Germany, although our southern neighbour greatly expanded the width of the targeted population - and I believe you Poles know better than anyone in which direction humanity turned from there.
So, be careful about being inspired by the Danish Social Democratic Party, especially when it comes to matters of other'ing people who are not similar to yourself :) Cheers

kwdczxdSounds like the people who did this policy are long gone, so why would anyone have a problem with the current social democratic party members? This post reminds me of how American republicans say that the Democratic party are evil because they used to be the party of slavery lol. Exact same sentiment.

kwdjt0mHey, I was mostly trying to inform our Polish friend here a about the history of this party, since they showed interest. When was it ever a sin to share knowledge?
The amnesia, disregard, or ignorance that people have towards previous mistakes is how Socialdemokratiet gets away with continuing to other people like they do to this day, and if anyone even mentions said previous mistakes, people like you get offended. Are we not supposed to learn from history, especially if we notice history rhyming with the present?
The bald strongman of Italy is also long dead. Look where the amnesia of Italians brought them. Would you still compare me to a US Republican for reminding them of this? I didn’t ask for Socialdemokratiets members to be sterilized back, I just criticized their past and present as a citizen who lives with the consequences of their policies.

kweerl2Det forholder sig desværre således, at folk rundt omkring i verden går rundt og danner et fantasmatisk billede af det socialdemokratiske parti, ligesom vores polske ven her gør - derfor synes jeg det ville være relevant at give et lille bitte indblik i partiets historie i et forsøg på at bryde dette. Du må gerne synes det er mærkeligt, men selv en spidsnisse som dig selv må da vel erkende at det er informativ historisk viden for en lægmand fra et andet land?
