Hey all,

I want to install android on my Oled switch.

I use that switch all the time and dont want to lose all my Data from the CFW because it took many days to collect everything i needed.

When i want to follow the guids frome the Internet and Youtube i should use the Partition Manager and than i get the Pop-up:

Your Files will be wiped!

Any other partition will be also wiped!

USE USB UMS to copy them over!

Can anyone tell me how i can install Android and keep my other CFW untouched.

Thanks to you all

Hi, I've installed Android TV image on my Switch and was hoping to use MiBox bluetooth remote to control the device. Unfortunately it won't pair.

Has anyone succesfully been using bluetooth remote with Switch? If so which one? Has power and volume buttons worked?

Hey everyone. I recently installed home brew software onto my switch, running android 10. I was looking to sell the switch to my friend, as he seemed incredibly interested in the switch itself along with the capabilities of home brew. I was wondering what would be the best way to give it to my friend; is there a way I could erase all contents of both the switch, and the installed software on the version of android without requiring without completely formatting both the SD card and switch? Thanks in advance, any advice is appreciated.

Hello guys! i am a newby here and i just want to share with you something cool i found.

It turns out you can actually use the gamesir X3 Pro controller on the switch, and it actually works as intended. I'm using android, drastic and screen orientation app to change the orientation to vertical screen.

And that's really it, I hope some of you find this post useful, specially if you already have the controller and wanted to play DS on your switch.

Hi, I installed Lineage OS 18.1 on switch, and joycons don't work consistently when is some games, am I missing any setting?

To give an example, I'm trying to play Brotato, first it worked, I needed to reinstall Lineage now joycons don't respond in game (they respond in Console launcher) I get them out and try to re-pair bluetooth, I try switching some Switch settings, now they work. I get an error, need to restart, they don't respond anymore... I think it's just the joysticks and action buttons, because home works, and + presses the current button.

Can anyone help with this?

I've used switchroot in the past on Android 10. I recently got a new SD card, formatted and partitioned it and installed Android 11. Almost everything is working great, aside from docked mode. When I go into advanced system settings, it shows my TV as 1080p, 60Hz. It's clearly running at 720p though. I'm running the official Switch dock into a Yamaha RX-V581 home theater receiver into a Sharp Aquos 1080p TV. If I look at signal info in the Yamaha receiver, it says it's receiving 1080p. If I use the system menu to manually switch the TV resolution to 720p, one of two things happen. Most commonly, I'll get a black screen. Sometimes, I get a zoomed in view in the upper left corner that looks like it's trying to display 1080p on a 720p screen. My primary use case for switchroot is to run Steam Link or Parsec to stream games from my PC. When I was running Android 10, I had a similar issue to what I describe above, but I was able to find a workaround. The issue would happen if I launched Steam Link in handheld mode, then docked the console. The app would be "stuck" running in 720p and even disconnecting and reconnecting to my PC would give the same results. If I undocked the console, force closed Steam Link, then re-docked the console, then relaunched Steam Link, it would be in 1080p. This workaround doesn't seem to work anymore in Android 11. Is there something I'm doing wrong here? Is my home theater receiver or the switch dock being problematic? Should I go back to Android 10? I like the idea of just using the switch for all my portable gaming, using Parsec on the go and Steam Link locally, but it's starting to seem like I might want to save up for a Steam Deck.

EDIT: After some research I found that this was indeed a problem with Android 11, and rolling back to Android 10 "solved" my problem. Docking / undocking works seamlessly and the docked resolution is truly 1080p. I'm not sure if this counts as solving the problem, but it works for me. I'll update further if something turns up that allows this to work properly in Android 11.

I quickly filled my SD card storage up by downloading Roms on Dolphin. Is there any way to connect an external hard drive to my Switch and load the extra Roms on there or would I have to partition a second SD card exclusively for Roms when using Ubuntu/Dolphin? Thanks in advance!

Hi, that's a question I haven't found an answer. I tried to install Android in my Erista multiple times, using one of the (many) spare SDs I have here. However, each and every time, after the installation finishes, Android starts to give multiple errors, and I never got to see it actually working. Maybe the reason is that I need to have it installed with Atmosphere? Thanks

Hi,

I just booted up in Android for the first time in a while, and it worked fine. But I got the same message as this person in hetake, "Old Nyx Gui detected, there will be dragons". So I thought I would update it and downloaded 'hekate_ctcaer_5.7.2_Nyx_1.2.2.zip' from here and dropped it onto the root of my SD card, and clicked replace as per these instructions.

I then booted it back up, and still got the message about Old Nyx Gui detected but continued on anyway.

Now, however, when I click 'More configs' I get the same message as this guy and there is no option to choose android. I checked the hekate folder I downloaded, and there is no file in the ini folder.

He says he fixed it by "Simply needed to download the icosa tab zip from the switchroot site and put the files from there onto the root of the SD card. After that, it worked perfectly again"

I've downloaded that folder he mentioned from here and got the file from the ini folder, and put it into the empty ini folder on my sd card. All the other files are the same.

I now have Android showing up in 'More configs' but when I click it, the device restarts back to the first "Old Nyx Gui detected, there will be dragons" screen so I think it's just restarting hetake.

Does anyone know what I've done wrong or how I can fix this? Thanks!

Today I’ve been having a constant issue where my switch randomly crashes android into a kernel panic, I’ve tried both android 10 and 11 on 2 different sd cards yet it still doesn’t stop crashing it, I did some research on what a kernel panic was and I heard it might have something to do with faulty ram, and I had a overclock on my ram and cpu when on android 10, did I complete mess up my switch, or is it a sd card issue? And I’ve tried Ubuntu and Lakka to test it and they both have random kernel panic crashes too.

Hello, I just installed Android 11 today and it works for the most part. However, when I tried to use Steam Link or Moonlight, I noticed that my left stick drifts upwards for all games. So, I downloaded a gamepad checker app and I saw that it is indeed drifting to the top but when I boot to official firmware and do calibrations and play games, the controllers seem to be fine without any drift?

My question is, can this be fixed by tweaking something or is it my joycons malfunctioning? Thanks!

I was wondering if anybody knows of a place I can ask people about optimizing Retroarch cores on Switchroot for specific games. This is mainly for N64 as GBA, SNES GB and NES all seem to work without a hitch.

Hi. I'm a recent transfer from Reddit, as many are here, and have gotten into exploring Linux on Switch. Honestly, this was actually my first in-depth involvement with Linux, although I have messed with it in the past. Anyway, on to the main topic. After some ups and downs, I was able to get Steam to work via a combo of Pi-Apps (wine64 and box64) and the L4T Megascript (the steam install script by itself had some issues). While some games seem to work ok (The Talos Principle is pretty much playable at this point), it looks like x86 (32bit) games are not cooperating with DXVK; they only work with OpenGL through Steam's WINED3D launch command. Otherwise, they don't even launch, and crash immediately. This wouldn't be too much of a problem, except some 3D games look like they'd perform much better (or be outright playable in cases with unplayable games) with DXVK.

I've tried everything from installing 32bit libraries (spoiler: L4T 18.04 either does not work with them half the time due to dependency/compatibility issues, or cannot find them the other half) to updating sources and installing new software/updating drivers; nothing's worked so far. From what I can tell from the Proton logs, it looks like it has to do with i386/32bit drivers, but I can't be sure how to fix this given the before mentioned issues. I just wanted to check in to see if anyone else either had this issue or had any ideas to remedy this. That being said, anyone have an idea of how to fix this? The bulk of what's causing this seems to be summed up in these two lines from the proton log:

"Error loading needed lib libGLX_nvidia.so.0" "terminate called after throwing an instance of 'dxvk::DxvkError'"

I might as well add that I've looked in the discord, and didn't find any answers there either.

Mind you, x64 games seem to at least launch off the bat. Again, from my own research, it seems like this is related to Steam or DXVK (or both) not being able to find i386 drivers/the drivers just not being there, but I have had no luck fixing this on L4T Swithroot Ubuntu. Any assistance would be appreciated, and I can provide a full log if needed. Thanks. In the meantime, I'm gonna keep searching online to see what I can find.
