I've seen quite a few posts already about the buzzing in headphones when using the 3.5mm jack on the new SD OLED models.

Got mine yesterday and having the same issue but the effect varies quite dramatically depending on circumstances. I have 3 pairs of headphones to test:

- Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 Ohm, has no noise issue that I can detect when using the 3mm jack but also has lowest volume due to impedance so might just be below the noise floor for me to hear.

- Beyerdynamic BeatByrds 18 Ohm, slight noise and buzzing but not enough to be truly distracting, especially while playing a game. Although still a little frustrating on the Steam menus.

- Roland CS-10EM Binaural Mics/Headphones 16 Ohm, these ones have a huge amount of electrical buzzing and noise.but they are also the loudest of my headphones. They have mics in the headphones and a separate jack so I thought that was maybe causing the issue at first until I saw everyone with the issues here. The noise level is really unbearable on these.

I had previously used all three sets on my LCD model before and had no issues with noise or buzzing.

I used the Roland headphones to test where and when I heard the most noise and buzzing and strangely enough depending on what is highlighted on screen sometimes the noise disappears. When games are highlighted browsing the library the noise is at it's worst, but if I move up to the tabs row of the library and highlight one of the heading for "installed", "favourites" etc then there is no noise that I can hear. As soon as I got back down to highlight a game the noise is extremely loud again. And switching between menu items peaks the highest amount of buzzing.

Is anyone getting similar results? Does anyone understand why this issue might change when highlighting different menu items?

Hello so I recently bought GTA 4 and I just installed on my steam deck but for some reason it just opens and says " Error starting steam. Verify that the steam client is running and try again" I even installed the Rockstar games launcher to see if that would help but it didn't and it didn't even find the game Anyone know how to fix this?

I'm making a custom layout for a non-Steam game (Turtle WoW) and my Deck keeps switching to the default Gamepad layout while I'm making changes. If I don't save my layout the changes are gone, but it has even switched and reverted my changes while I was saving.

It seems to mostly do this when I try to change a virtual menu, but it happens at other times too, even just changing the select button. Also happens whether or not the game is running. I've tried restarting my machine, switching to beta and back to stable, but it keeps happening.

SteamOS is like a 20 - 25 seconds startup to pin entry.

Win11 on my Deck is 5 seconds.

Title. Is it possible to turn off power on via bluetooth? My earbuds keep turning on my Deck and it's very annoying

I have been thinking about adding Xenia, and RPCS3 to Emudeck, but I am thinking possibly just adding a sort of Emudeck to streamline playing the games from my desktop using Steam Link. Let me know what your preferred setup is.

I caved in and bought an OLED deck, and I have my current, LCD model pouting at me. I had a 1TB microSD in there, and all of my games are installed to it. My plan is to just simply put this microSD into my new Deck after initial setup and add it as an install location in Desktop mode. I saw a few posts in this sub (filtering out posts within the last few months) saying this should be fine, but I'm curious if someone has successfully tried this?

I'm mostly trying to avoid redownloading anything, most of the games I want to keep are 30+ GB and somehow my household uses about 1.1 TB of our 1.2 TB of data Xfinity allows every month.

I've seen some people say if you don't have the Proton version necessary for a game, downloads may be required. Would this just be for the required Proton version?

Any help and insight is much appreciated!

I am kind of new in this, I tried to start RE5 but turned out the opening isn't displaying and I eventually stopped the game when Chris and Sheva met. I could see the subtiles on a black screen, nothing more. Did anyone find a way to experience that game (solo mode) with no issue ? Thanks you all !

Hi, I ordered my steam deck Monday of last week and I’m still yet to receive it. The tracking info last says it left the depot in the Netherlands and then nothing… steam says 3-5 business days. Should I contact support or am I just being paranoid?

My steam deck just arrived yesterday. I tested it out and it works great on some of the games I tried (Bioshock, darksiders 2 enhanced, Alan wake) My questions are as followed:

1. To install gamepass and playstation remote play does this require a keyboard.

2. If I buy the dock, can I reinstall steam os from regular USB after changing ssd?

3. Does the desktop environment require a keyboard to work?

4. If I set up steam link, how bad is the latency?

5. Which docking system is the best?

6. If I want to dual boot windows, how much is the deck hampered?

I switched from a steam deck lcd to the oled model but I’m now having major issues with Chiaki.

It’s completely flawless up to about 10-20 mins and then I hit severe slow downs with white and green screens.

Only exiting the session and reconnecting to the ps5 works.

I wondered if this could be a problem with the oled models given my network and setup are exactly the same across the devices.

Same issue with Chiaki and Chiaki4deck

So long story short, my gf bought me a steamdeck for chirstmas, but she accidentally put the wrong address and it got delivered to the neighbor across the street. When I got the package back from them, the box was already opened, the deck powered on and signed into a steam account, and the plastic twisty for the power cable was already removed and lazily put back on. Amazing neighbors, I know, but besides that I need to know if I actually got everything back from them or if I'm missing anything.

All I have is the deck itself in the carrying case with the charger. Zero packing whatsoever. Plus I have no idea what model it is, so I don't know if she splurged for the higher tier model that came with the steam profile exclusives or not(not that it matters at this point).

Its crappy that this christmas surprise was ruined, but if I know I'm not missing anything important, then I'm just going to factory reset the device and just act like I didn't know I got a new deck until then. If there is things missing then I don't really know where to start but I'm sure I'll figure something out.

I own oled ps vita cracked with 256GB SD card in pretty good condition which is full of NES, Gameboy, PS1, PSP and PS Vita games. But now I would like to buy the steam deck 1T OLED version and I need to ask if I should sell the vita or keep it if in the future will the ps vita have higher value. I wont have time to play on vita and deck so I will play only on deck and maybe keep the vita as investment. What do you guys think?

I'm looking to get my partner a wall mount or dock for his steam deck for Christmas. We just moved in together and have a nice long desk for the both of us to share.

Has anyone seen any docking stations that are mountable? Or just a cool mount? Ideally we'd like to keep most stuff off the desktop itself.

I'd also appreciate any other gifting ideas if you've seen something really cool. He's already got a leather skin on his steam deck and it's very fancy :)

Seriously, it’s unreal how OLED screens can breathe new life into retro games. The colors are crisp and pop off the screen, and the deep blacks that exist in a bunch of the NES era games look just so so good.

If you’re on the fence, and you love retro games like I do - this is the one, people.

Hello Fellow Redditors, My cricket 22 and 24 has this graphical issue and I'm not sure how to rectify it. Players and umpires show up in double images during animations. They look normal while playing the ball. My other games don't have this issue. Kindly advice if anything can be done to resolve this issue
